My brother sent me a pic because he has doubts if the bed he is being sold is actually California king. How do we know the difference? Should it be square or rectangle? Thanks!

- Standard King: 76″ wide x 80″ long (6′ 4″ X 6′ 8″)
- California King: 72″ wide x 84″ long (6′ X 7′)

I had a king size mattress delivered to my home in March. Delivery men told me that they had to fold mattress in half in order to get mattress upstairs. I’ve always had king size mattresses upstairs and have never had to fold mattress up. Anyway mattress sleeps awful could this have come from the mattress being folded and perhaps coils being broken????
Just phone the store. They said only if mattress was folded for a long period of time would there be some sort of damage. I don’t know..What do you think

Yes, probably….I used to deliver furniture and
VERY expensive mattresses. The
mattress can be bent a little, but folding
the mattress is a little extreme. It probably
has metal springs and some could have
gotten bent.
There should be deformities in the mattress
if the springs have been bent. I’d try running
your hand over the top and see if there are
any ununiform places on the surface.
It also depends on which type of mattress it
is. I would imagine Memory Foam mattresses
would have more give than a standard spring
mattress.

YES YOU CAN USE TWO TWIN BEDS AND THE ALSO HAVE SORT OF A BED COVER THAT HAS A CUSHION THING IN THE MIDDLE TO PREVENT YOU FEELING THE MIDDLE OF THE BED-YOU KNOW WHERE THE TWO TWIN BEDS MEET

I’ve got a queen size bedroom set but upgraded to a king size bed (standard mattress type). I was thinking about using plywood and wood supports to set the new king size box on top of the old queen. Of course, the headboard and footboards would not be the proper size but I don’t think I’ll mind the 6 inch or so overhang. Has anyone tried this or seen it done? Thanks!
cherry, you may be right but just like any bedroom set under $ 5000 …. I won’t get anything trying to sell it. Also, like any bedroom set you simply can’t find or buy the bed alone. It’s a big old ash set with a cannonball style bed. Impossible to even find something similar to match.
